11/2/2025Groundup.ai joined the GIA Singapore-Australia Market Accelerator to bring Cognitive Maintenance to Australian industry. Here's what came next.
A good maintenance platform earns trust one asset at a time. Entering a new market works the exact same way: it begins by understanding how local operators run their plants, procure technology, and measure asset reliability on the ground.
That principle drove Groundup.ai to join the Singapore-Australia Market Accelerator (SAMA), an initiative delivered by Haymarket HQ and Enterprise Singapore under the Global Innovation Alliance (GIA). Designed for high-growth tech enterprises, SAMA provides structured market preparation, regulatory immersion, and targeted in-market commercial engagement across Australia.
Selected as part of an elite cohort of Singapore deep-tech companies scaling into the region, the Groundup.ai team traveled to Melbourne and Sydney to engage key trade bodies, industrial asset owners, and local ecosystem leaders.
The delegation gave our engineering and commercial teams firsthand exposure to the realities of the Australian market:
"In Australia, geography dictates maintenance strategy. Assets are frequently spread across vast regional footprints where sending a reliability specialist out to inspect a noisy alert can mean a four-hour drive or an expensive turnaround. We quickly realised that Australian operators don't just want anomaly detection; they need high-confidence, remote root-cause diagnosis so their teams arrive on site with the exact parts and tools required for the fix."
Throughout the programme, Groundup.ai showcased its multi-modal Cognitive Maintenance platform, demonstrating how the TASV2 Triaxial Sensor and GINA AI work in tandem. By synthesising high-fidelity sound, vibration, and thermal telemetry, the platform moves beyond generic threshold alerts to identify specific fault modes, like outer-race bearing wear, cavitation, or shaft misalignment, and prescribes actionable repair windows before downtime strikes.
The value resonated immediately across heavy manufacturing, food and beverage processing, maritime fleets, and water infrastructure.
"Australia represents one of the most mature yet geographically demanding industrial landscapes in the world," said Leon Lim, CEO and Co-Founder of Groundup.ai. "SAMA gave us the platform to sit down directly with plant directors and asset leaders who are balancing aging infrastructure with lean operational teams. Enterprise Singapore and Haymarket HQ opened the right doors, validating that our cross-OEM, multi-modal diagnostic approach solves a pressing operational challenge here."
